Bonus 3-Year Warranty Terms & Conditions
PT Doors is pleased to offer an additional 3-year warranty on Merlin garage door motors purchased and installed by PT Doors, extending the total coverage to 10 years. This bonus warranty is provided under the following conditions:
- Eligibility
- The customer must purchase the Merlin motor directly from PT Doors.
- The motor must be installed by PT Doors’ qualified technicians.
- The warranty applies only to residential installations.
- Warranty Coverage
- Years 1-7: Covered by Merlin (Chamberlain Group) as per the manufacturer’s warranty terms.
- Years 8-10: Covered by PT Doors, limited to defects in materials and workmanship.
- Servicing Requirements
- Industry standards recommend servicing every 12-18 months. However, to maintain the full 10-year warranty, the following mandatory services must be completed by PT Doors:
- Year 3 (must be before year 4 of post install) & Year 5 (must be before year 6 post install) – Required to keep the manufacturer’s warranty valid.
- Year 7 (must be before year 8 post install) & Year 9 (must be before year 10 post install) – Required to keep the additional PT Doors bonus warranty valid.
- These services are chargeable to the customer at standard service rates.
- Failure to service within the required timeframe voids both the manufacturer’s warranty and PT Doors’ additional 3-year warranty.
- Exclusions
- Damage due to misuse, accidents, power surges, or environmental factors.
- Modifications, repairs, or servicing by anyone other than PT Doors.
- Normal wear and tear, batteries, and accessories such as remote controls.
- Claims & Support
- For any warranty claim within Years 1-7, the customer must first contact PT Doors. PT Doors will assess the issue and, if applicable, submit the claim to the manufacturer along with proof of purchase and service history.
- Claims for Years 8-10 must be submitted directly to PT Doors with proof of purchase and service records.
- “By proceeding with the purchase and installation of a Merlin motor through PT Doors, the customer acknowledges and agrees to these warranty conditions.”
