This usually comes down to one of four things:

  1. Frequency interference from a nearby device or neighbour’s remote
  2. A jammed button on your remote
  3. Faulty wall button wiring
  4. Control board issue

Start by checking whether your remote button is physically stuck. If it is, that’s likely the cause. Removing the remote battery temporarily can help isolate the issue.

If the door continues opening on its own after those checks, it’s worth getting the wiring and control board looked at. Contact us for a repair service or visit our garage door safety page for more information.
